Summer Pastel painting class begins Friday, June 5th. There’s a few spots left.
Location: At the Dupage Art League in Wheaton, IL.

PASTEL PAINTING IN 3 STEPS
Friday Afternoons 1-3:30pm
Instructor: Carol Zack, award winning

Come join us as a beginner or beyond. We will focus on three classic steps for using oil pastel or soft pastel. (See supply list when you register online.)

Step 1. Establishing a limited palette based on values
Step 2. Including a gestural underpainting as the first stage of the painting
Step 3. Developing the pastel painting with a focus on Shapes, Values, Edges, Colors, and Textures

You will also learn updated presentation skills for framing and how to use your phone to see values and take good
photos of your work. Believe it or not, knowing how to draw is always helpful, but not required for this class.

Open Studio yesterday at the McCord Gallery in Palos Hills with IL. members of the Portrait Society of America.

Most paintings were done in oil paint. One member worked in watercolor (not shown) and I worked in Pan Pastel and Soft Pastel on Pastel Mat.
First time modeling for this young Highschool football player. It was lots of fun!
