What a perfectly perfectly perfect morning for the Elgin Valley Fox Trot!! Team EPM (Judy, Russ, Sharry, Peggy, Mary, Amy B, Deb, Niki, Steph, Abby, and down on the trail with the deer, Karin) was again stationed along a lovely north end neighborhood -- nice work if you can get it, and we did! Thanks also to Officer Ciesielczyk, with whom we go back a ways to when the running route went past Willow Lake Estates. Along with Cal's Angels, Friends of the Fox River, Association for Individual Development, Salvation Army, Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Illinois, Elgin Sharks youth running club, Kiwanis, and the new whippersnappers of PADS, EPM benefits from the race, and we ALL appreciate it so much! ... Okay, it's over, and you know what that means: Tomorrow, the planning starts for the FIFTIETH Fox Trot in 2027!!!!

We could not order up a more perfect day from amazon prime! You simply must come out to Lords Park Zoo - Elgin, Illinois to see the magnificent JG's Reptile Road Show! Zoo opens at noon, show at 12:30, and both are FREE. After the show, come on over to Elgin Public Museum steps away! Admission is just $3 adults, $2 kids 3-12, and includes our Scavenger Hunt ... plus, we have three Dinos visiting for the summer!

We are just a day away from the opening of Lords Park Zoo - Elgin, Illinois for the summer season! This year, Dinos are mingling with the farm animals, elk, deer, and bison. AND, you don't want to miss JG's Reptile Road Show, which starts at 12:30 pm inside the zoo -- FREE!!

Meanwhile, the museum opens at noon, but we'll admit, we hope you go see JG and his pals first, and THEN come visit the museum! We do have a small admission fee of $3 adults, $2 kids 3-12 and Seniors 60+, but free for under 3, Museum Members, Elgin Twp Senior Access passes, and U-46 teachers with district ID. We, too have a few Dino summer visitors, and a scavenger hunt. Come on out to Lords Park tomorrow for a great family-friendly time!

Just a quick reminder!: It's NOT TOO LATE to register for Sunday's 2026 Elgin Valley Fox Trot! Whether the 10-mile, 5k, or the 2k Fun Walk, when you sign up, you get a nifty official t shirt, and you are helping out TEN, count 'em, TEN area non-profits who DO GOOD STUFF! -- The Lions Foundation, Cal's Angels, the Salvation Army, Friends of the Fox River, PADS of Elgin, Inc., the Elgin Sharks youth running club, Kiwanis Club of Elgin, Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Illinois, AID (Association for Individual Development), and ... hmmm, what's the tenth ... AH! Elgin Public Museum! We really do appreciate your support.

If you don't want to run or walk, you can still make direct donations to any of the ten through the same site.

Rigby, Denny, and Lance are waiting to meet you! Lords Park has been invaded by DINOS! It's weekdays opening day for Elgin Public Museum today (Thursday) -- through the summer we'll have an expanded schedule of THURSDAY-SUNDAY, 12-4. Admission is $3 adults, $2 kids 3-12 and Seniors 60+. In addition to our two floors of exhibits, we have a monthly-changing scavenger hunt, and a Discovery Room for kids. Handy Tip: We're a great place to cool off on a hot summer day, too! The pool/aquatic center is already open, and the zoo follows this Saturday, with a FREE presentation by J.G.'s Reptile Road Show -- and you'll find more dinos hanging out in the zoo, too! Come on out and enjoy Lords Park!
