Fantastic weather and a great day of bocce at the Estate Bocce Tournament on Saturday. Eight mixed-doubles teams competed for the championship. Congratulations to the winners:

1st Place - Weekend Rollers - Cary, Kristina, Phil and Joyce
2nd Place - Quattro Amici - Joe, Jessica, Barbara and Ken

Special thanks to the volunteers that made pizzas and hot sandwiches for the participants. We appreciate all of the volunteers and tournament participants for their support of Murer House’s bocce program.

Chocolate Orange Nut Diamonds (Mostaccioli) with Anna Maria
Saturday, May 30th, 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Join me for a hands-on baking class featuring Chocolate Orange Nut Diamonds, a modern take on traditional Italian Mostaccioli. These rich, flavorful cookies combine cocoa, citrus, warm spices, and crunchy nuts for a perfectly balanced rustic and elegant bite. Students will learn how to mix, shape, and bake the dough for ideal texture and flavor, then finish the cookies with a smooth glaze for a beautiful presentation. If time permits, we will make candied citrus for the ultimate presentation. Each student will prepare their own batch to enjoy in class or take home to share.

What a great event at the Murer House Saturday! Our 13th Annual Italy on Wheels Italian Car & Bike Show was a huge success. What an amazing display of cars, motorcycles, scooters and bikes.

The crowds of people not only enjoyed the show, but also the raffle prizes, pizza from our very own pizza oven, beer, Italian sodas and of course the beautiful gardens and a tour of the historic house and museum.

Thank you to everyone who participated, attended and most of all our tireless volunteers (adults & students) for making it such a fun event.

Lasagna Bolognese is a classic comfort dish from Emilia-Romagna in Northern Italy, known for its delicate layers and rich, balanced flavors. In this hands-on class, we will make fresh pasta sheets, a traditional slow-simmered meat Bolognese sauce, and a silky béchamel to create an authentic homemade lasagna from scratch. Each student will assemble their own small lasagna to enjoy in class or take home!

This class will guide you through every step of making one of Italy’s most beloved desserts: the crostata. From mixing and rolling a tender, buttery pastry crust to creating a lattice topping and filling it with delicious fruit jam, you’ll learn techniques that produce a beautiful tart every time. We’ll talk about baking tips for a crisp crust, and ways to decorate your crostata for any occasion.
