Our final Homeschool Day of the season ended with full rooms, curious minds, and lots of engaged young historians. 🇺🇸

From interactive presentations to hands-on activities, it was exciting to watch students and families fully jump into the experience and connect with history in such meaningful ways. A huge thank you to our incredible presenters, volunteers, and families who helped make this season such a success.

Calling all young artists across Northeast Georgia! 🇺🇸🎨

The Northeast Georgia History Center and Brenau University are inviting rising 6th–8th grade students to submit original artwork for our upcoming juried exhibition, Reinterpreting American Symbols.

Students are encouraged to creatively reimagine the symbols and imagery that shape the American experience—from flags and eagles to liberty and identity—through both 2D and 3D artwork.

✨ Open to the public
✨ Up to two submissions per student
✨ All artistic mediums welcome

Submission deadline: May 31, 2026

We can’t wait to see how the next generation interprets the symbols that define our nation.

Kick off summer with us at Party @ the Park! ☀️🐉🚣

Join us on June 5 at the Lanier Canoe & Kayak Club for an afternoon full of family-friendly fun, including dragon boat demonstrations, lakeside STEM activities, live animals from Elachee, storytime, Lake Lanier history, tours of the facility, and more.

We’re excited to partner with so many wonderful community organizations to celebrate summer and all things Lake Lanier. Best of all—admission is free!

As we approach the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution, the Northeast Georgia History Center is launching the 250 Revolutionaries Campaign. 🇺🇸

We are seeking 250 supporters to donate $250 by December 31, 2026 to help preserve and share the history of our region during this historic milestone. Donors will be recognized with their names displayed in the Rotunda at the History Center.

250 Years. 250 People. $250.
