Thank you to all who joined us last Friday for the opening of the “Uncommon Art Residency Exhibit.”We celebrate the artists, ideas, and creative connections fostered through the Sound View Greenport Uncommon Art Residency Program with the opening of our first curated exhibition in Greenport.

Presented in partnership with the North Fork Art Collective, this invitational exhibition brings together residency alumni from across the country whose work reflects the spirit of exploration, community, and artistic exchange that defines the residency. Open to the public Saturdays 12-5pm and Sundays 11-4pm.

✨ Notes from a Gemini Rising ✨
A solo exhibition by Kara Hoblin (Karabellaa 🐋)

This exhibition grew from years of collecting,small moments, found objects, sketches, stories, and the quiet observations

Inside you’ll find paintings, drawings, hand-painted beach stones, natural curiosities, and treasured pieces gathered from walks along the North Fork sound. Native wildflowers, foxes, birds, shifting tides, folklore, and familiar landscapes all make their way into the work, where memory and imagination begin to overlap.

The title comes from my Gemini rising (ascendant sign) the part of my astrological chart associated with curiosity, communication, and seeing the world through many perspectives. That energy has always shaped the way I create: following ideas wherever they lead, collecting fragments, and allowing unexpected connections to emerge.

More than anything, Notes from a Gemini Rising is an invitation to wander. To notice the small things. To rediscover a sense of wonder in the places we think we already know.
