Holland Museum The Holland Museum features fascinating exhibits and dynamic programming for the benefit of all.

The mission of the Holland Museum is "Preserving our past, imagining our future. ” Established in 1937 as a cultural organization for collecting the early Dutch immigrant story, the Holland Museum transformed in the early 1990s to working toward an inclusive community story. The Holland Museum strives to achieve its mission and goals through programs, events, exhibits and community engagement. Through our community partnerships, we can connect cultures, communities and programming to enhance a visitor’s experience. Holland Museum preserves Holland’s history in three distinct properties: the Museum, Cappon House and Settlers House. The Museum, a repurposed Post Office building from 1914, displays Holland history, Dutch art, and temporary exhibits. The Italianate Cappon House, built in 1874, was the home to Isaac Cappon, Holland’s first mayor and local tanner. In stark comparison, the Settlers House, five houses up the street, was built in 1867 by an Irish ship carpenter and represents a working-class family home.

Local students are helping shape this year's Día de los Mu***os celebration through the ofrendas they've created. 🌼🕯💀

On October 24, Latin Americans United for Progress and the Holland Museum will welcome the community to the Holland Armory for music, dance, face painting, and art activities with CultureWorks.

We're glad to work alongside our community partners in supporting this tradition of remembrance.

A new exhibition at the Holland Museum brings contemporary Anishinaabe art into focus.

Opening November 7, Anishinaabe Artists of the Great Lakes features works by Indigenous artists with ancestral ties to the Great Lakes region. Drawn from a local private collection, the exhibition explores identity, place, cultural continuity, and resilience through a variety of media.

Community ofrendas will be part of this year’s Día de los Mu***os celebration. 🌼🕯💀

Created by local K–12 students, these displays will offer visitors an opportunity to learn about the traditions of remembrance at the heart of the holiday.

The free celebration is presented by the Holland Museum, Latin Americans United for Progress - LAUP, Downtown Holland, CultureWorks Transformative Art + Design Academy.
