True confession! I learn more from the classes I teach every month at the Holland Area Arts Council than all the folks who come to create. We made Japanese foam fabric art known as Kinusaiga. So beautiful! And as you can see, everyone did such a great job as usual. I was so busy talking and enjoying everyone's company, I forgot to take a lot of photos. We are excited to announce our next guest artist workshop at the studio with Greg Sullentrup! What a night! Our very first guest workshop with the wonderful and witty Beth Trembley is in the books, and WOW did we have fun.

A little zine history, a little English class, a little drawing class, and the magic of folding one piece of paper into an 8-page booklet. Beth really covered it all. There really is something special about being pushed out of your usual comfort zone and into something totally new, and Beth is the kind of teacher who makes that feel exciting. Now we cannot wait to show our friends and tell everyone we meet about zines!

It's pumpkin season! So this week's drawing is a pumpkin of course. Grab your pumpkin latte and draw with me. Remember, it's not about creating a perfect drawing. It's about slowing down, enjoying the process, and taking a few moments for yourself.

There is truly nothing like our little downtown. Carolyn has had the joy of capturing so many of these storefronts over the years, and each one is such a love letter to a place that means something special. We are so grateful to be part of this community. We hope you are enjoying Fall Fest this weekend.

We are so happy to be hosting our first carved pumpkin. I think we will name him Gnorman Rockwell. . Bona Lisa and Skully are adjusting nicely to sitting out front with their new friend. Join the Fall Fest fun in Downtown Holland today. And thanks downtown for our Gnorman, we love him.
