We'll be closed Monday for Labor day - but there's still plenty of time to catch Eden Collins' "Oh Hai, Versailles" in the Padnos Gallery before it leaves on October 3rd.

Eden has turned the gallery into a sculptural lawn - Rococo-style garden tools and lawn equipment, paired with video, all done up in the ornate visual language of 18th-century French aristocracy. It's both playful and unexpected. 🤔 Come see it in person because photos really don't do it justice!

Blue and white is having a moment here. 🎨

This Saturday, September 5th (11am - 1pm), pull up a seat with your family and get your hands a little messy together. Gemma's got materials and a prompt inspired by Delft pottery - but where you decide to take it is entirely up to you! Swirl it, splatter it, turn it into something that looks nothing like a vase. However your family interprets it is the right way.

This is our free monthly Family Day (sponsored in part by the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area 🤗) - so bring the whole crew, no sign- up needed! Just walk in, sit down, and make something together.

(If you want to see where the inspiration came from, the Blue & White Invitational at the Holland Museum is gorgeous!)

Update, spooky friends! 👻 The dates for "Beware the Artist" have shifted a bit, so here's what you need to know: the exhibit now runs October 8 - November 15, 2026, and we've got some new deadlines to keep on your radar 👀

Submission deadline: September 19th
Notification of acceptance: September 22nd
Drop-off (if accepted): September 28th - October 3rd, during normal business hours
Opening reception, "A Ghoulish Night at the Arts Council": October 9th, 5:30 - 7:00pm, with a costume contest (homemade costumes encouraged!) and food!

And yes, out-of-area artists - you're welcome to submit! Just know that if your work is selected, it'll need to be here and install-ready by the drop-off dates above. ☝Shipping to and from HAAC is the artist's responsibility, and while we'll take great care of your work while it's here, we can't be held liable for damage or loss in transit. 🫠

Come and make something strange with us. Link to submit here: https://bit.ly/4g36dsh

Small panels, big impact - our 6x6 Exhibition is BACK! 👏

Whether you've been in the studio for years or you haven't picked up a paintbrush since grade school, this one's for you! 🫵 Starting August 24th, stop by the Arts Council to grab your free 6"x6" panel, then make it yours - paint it, draw on it, collage it, mix it up, however you want to create. 🤗

Get your finished piece back to us by October 23rd and it'll join 199 others for our big exhibition, where all 200 works go up for sale at $40 each - with 100% of every sale going straight back into our programs! It's a fun, low-pressure way to try something new, support the arts, and see your work hanging alongside your neighbors'. (And if yours doesn't sell, it becomes part of the Arts Council's collection for future events - so it keeps giving back either way!)

Come making something small that means a lot. 🎨 https://hollandarts.org/call-for-artists
