Art and generosity have always gone hand in hand, and this November, you and see it on our walls.

Over 200 artists of every age and skill level have a small square of their creativity so that HAAC can keep doing what we do: making the arts accessible to everyone in our community. When you take a 6x6 home for $40, 100% of that gift stays right here, supporting classes, exhibits, and programs for kids and adults alike.

Opening night is Thursday, November 5th, 5:30 - 7pm. Come celebrate the artists, and give back while you do.

Okay, we'll be honest: a post asking for yarn and old magazines isn't the most thrilling thing we've shared. 🤷‍♀️ (It wasn't easy to make something eye-catching for this - how'd we do??)

But with a little imagination, what these items can turn into is pretty much endless.

So if you've got yarn or magazines collecting dust, send them our way. Fashion magazines are our favorite (all those colors and textures 😍), but really, we're not picky.

Drop-offs are welcome anytime during regular Arts Council hours. Who knows, what's been sitting around your house might end up as somebody's next favorite piece. 💛

Calling all Michigan Artists! ✋

We’re partnering with the West Michigan Regional Airport to commission a mural that welcomes everyone who lands in our region, and we want it to come from you! Capture the spirit of West Michigan in your own way. Aviation imagery is welcome, but not required, as long as it feels like a warm hello. 🥰

Open to all Michigan artists 18+. First-round deadline: December 1 at midnight.

Every 6x6 tells a story. 📖

Behind each little square is a community member who said yes: a kid trying something new, a retiree picking up a brush again, a first-timer who wasn't sure they could, and a seasoned artist who wanted to try something smaller. They each gave their time and talent to the Holland Arts Council, and together they've made something bigger than any one of us.

Join us for opening night, Thursday, November 5th, 5:30-7pm, to meet the artists and find a piece to take home. Each one is $40, and 100% of sales support HAAC programs, helping us keep the arts open to everyone here.

Calling all young artists! 📣 Youth Arts Club registration is officially OPEN, and classes start Tuesday, November 3!

Here's the best part: you can sign up for ONE week at a time. Come when it works for your family, jump right into whatever we're making that day, or pick up where you left off last time. No pressure, no catching up. Bring your wildest ideas. 🎨

We did it! After a few days of wrestling with the tech gremlins, we've won the battle (this time 😅). Our website and email are officially back in business. 💃🕺🏽

Thank you for all your patience this week, and for showing up to class like nothing was wrong. It turns out art doesn't need a website, but it does need all of you.

Quick heads up, friends: our website and email are taking a little more time off than we thought. We're working on getting everything back up and running 🏃🏻‍♀️

In the meantime, everything here at HAAC is carrying on as usual. Classes are on, galleries are open, and art is still happening, no internet required.

Registration is officially OPEN for Youth Arts Club and the first day is only 4 weeks away!! 🎨

Creating is how we learn what our hands and ideas can do. It’s where we try, where we imagine, and it’s where we find confidence and a community. That’s what we’re building here, and we’re so excited to share it with your family.

With our new Youth Arts Club, there’s no more signing up for 4-6 weeks at a time. Now you can buy ONE week at a time. Come when it works for your family, jump right into whatever we’re making that day, or pick back up on last week’s project. No pressure, no catching up. 🙌🏽

Some photos you take for yourself. Some deserve a wall. 🌟

The Holly Palmer FOTOG Regional Photographic Competition is back for its FINAL year, and we want to see what Michigan photographers are capturing right now. Film, cyanotype, digital, something in between - all of it counts! If it started with light, it belongs here.

Open to Michigan ✋ residents 18 and up. Submit up to three pieces by November 2 for a shot at 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place, plus two Honorable Mentions. Entry is $25 for one piece, $30 for two, or $35 for three.

This juried show will be on view in our Padnos Gallery November 19 through January 15.
