The Lexington County Museum offers a rare & unforgettable experience with structures & artifacts that focus on the everyday lives of Lexington County residents from the colonial period to the Civil War. Located on 7 acres of land in downtown Lexington, the Museum features 30 historic structures including the oldest house in Lexington. Did you know that in the late 1970s there was a dispute over whether Three Dog Road near White Rock was called Three Dog Road or Stone Hill Road. Richland County Council voted in favor of Three Dog Road in 1979. The name "Three Dog Road" allegedly comes from a resident who saw neighbors he was fueding with walking down the road. He then called out "Look here comes three dogs."

Looking for something to do on Saturday? Come out to the Lexington County Museum to learn about life in the 18th and 19th centuries in Lexington County and participate in the Lexington County Ag and Art Tour. Vendors will be set up around the grounds of the museum.

Last week, the LCM director attended and spoke at a dedication ceremony for the state historic marker commemorating Friday's Ferry and an interpretive panel explaining Friday's Ferry, Granby, and the Revolutionary War battles and skirmishes that occurred in the area.
