Morgan Lehman Gallery Contemporary art gallery in the West Cheslea arts district, NYC We can assist with all aspects of art acquisition, installation, and collection management.

Founded by Sally Morgan and Jay Lehman, Morgan Lehman Gallery first opened its doors in New York City in 2005. Since its inception the gallery has been committed to fostering the careers of emerging and mid-career American artists. These artists utilize multidisciplinary practices that range from process-driven abstraction to narrative figuration, and from formalist assemblage to conceptual installation. In 2016 Morgan Lehman Gallery moved to a 1,500 square-foot ground floor space on W. 24th street in the heart of the West Chelsea gallery district. In addition to its represented artists, the gallery collaborates directly on exhibitions and projects with many other artists. We offer extensive art advisory services to curators, art consultants, designers and corporate and private collectors.

“Morgan Lehman Gallery presents “Imperishable Change That Renovates the World,” a solo exhibition of new paintings by Kysa Johnson. Borrowing its title from Percy Bysshe Shelley’s “Queen Mab,” the exhibition considers transformation as a fundamental condition of existence. More than a century later, physicist Werner Heisenberg invoked Shelley’s phrase in “Physics and Philosophy” while reflecting on Heraclitus’ vision of a universe defined by flux, relation, and becoming. Johnson’s paintings use the language of physics to weave the microscopic, cosmic, and ecological into a single field of suspended attention.”

“Morgan Lehman Gallery is pleased to present “Just Two,” a group exhibition curated by the anonymous creator behind the beloved Instagram account Always Looking At Art. Marking the curator’s first physical exhibition, “Just Two” brings together artists whose works are united by a straightforward premise: each employs only two colors. Always Looking At Art has cultivated a devoted following by assembling thoughtful online collections that explore such concise themes, bringing together artworks across generations, disciplines, and geographies. “When I first began the garden, I thought of it as a separate project from my studio work, but over time I realized that gardening and artmaking were teaching me the same lessons about attention, patience, care, and collaboration with natural forces beyond my control-it is all about the doing - the repetition; that is where the wonder unfolds for me. The dirt and the paint are inseparable under my fingernails.

Now in its fifth year, I’m so proud to say that this (mostly) perennial garden thrives on rainfall alone. It has also grown a community up with it, becoming a place where history, creativity, and nature knit together, and continue to expand far beyond its borders.” - Carly Glovinski
