First up here, Stinson Beach Sentinel #3, collage by Jeff Dikio in "This Must Be the Place" at Transmission Gallery in Oakland. At 24" x 24" on cradled panel, Stinson Beach Sentinel is one of 22 pieces on view in our solo show of Jeff Dikio's recent paint chip collage compositions.

Dikio distills scenes from neighborhoods spanning the Sunset, Daly City, Richmond, and the beaches of Santa Cruz into kaleidoscope angles and rhythmic color. Click through to see a few and come in to see the work in person though June 13th, with the gallery open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 12-5 pm.

Jeff Dikio: This Must be the Place at Transmission Gallery through June 13th.

See new work by Jeff Dikio in one of two concurrent solo exhibitions in the gallery focused on collage.

From Doelger homes to Victorian facades and even an RV, Dikio’s compositions distill neighborhoods spanning the Sunset, Daly City, Richmond, and the beaches of Santa Cruz into essential shapes, colors, and rhythms.

Working with repurposed paint chips, Dikio constructs his collages with a tactile sensitivity to color and structure creating compositions both grounded and unsettled. Angled planes, exaggerated perspectives, and prismatic skies create scenes that feel at once embedded in real neighborhoods yet slightly unmoored from them. What emerges is a visual language of belonging, where home is less about geography and more about resonance.

12 x 12 inch pieces seen in detail here:
Daly City Doelger (gold & teal), framed
Daly City Doelger (yellow on yellow)
Daly City Doelger (beige and green), framed, with detail image following so you can get a good sense of the architectural angles of the cut paint chips in Dikio's work

This work is great to see in person, so stop by Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 12-5 pm, or check out the work on our website.
