So glad to host the QCT team!

As part of our Staff Training yesterday, we ended the day with a painting class at Quincy Art Center! After a day of emergency preparedness training, team building, and professional development, our team got to unwind, get creative, and enjoy some well-deserved time together. We're excited for all that's ahead this season!

Join us for a fun four-day summer camp intensive at the Art Center! In this class, students will learn the elements and principles of art involved in hand-building (NOT WHEEL-THROWING) pottery as they use unique materials to create marvelous works of art.

Something exciting is coming to West Central Illinois in less than two weeks!

From June 8 -11, Quincy Art Center will participate in WCIL Gives, a regional online giving event hosted by Tracy Family Foundation that brings communities together to support local organizations making a difference across West Central Illinois.

This year, we’re inviting our community to “Make a Splash” for the arts 💦🎨

Every gift made during WCIL Gives helps create ripples of creativity, connection, and community pride through:
• Art education in local schools
• Classes and workshops for all ages
• Exhibits featuring regional artists
• Community events and creative experiences

To celebrate her 70th birthday, Pixie and her daughter signed up for a basket-making class taught by Rachel Roundtree. “It was a wonderful experience to be part of a group of excited students led by a knowledgeable and patient teacher,” Pixie shared. “We all left smiling with our first basket!”

What started as a single class soon became part of her everyday life, and we feel like Pixie’s story is a great example of how art can enrich lives in our community.

In the months of June and July, The Art Center is offering 53 classes, camps, and workshops. Check them out at quincyartcenter.org/education, and remember members get 15% off 🙂

New K - 3rd Grade Teacher 🎨

We’re excited to welcome Sarah Moore to Quincy Art Center this summer! Sarah is a painter and educator with more than ten years of experience teaching art and humanities to students of all ages. Working primarily in acrylic and watercolor, her artwork is inspired by nature, observation, and curiosity.

Sarah brings a thoughtful and creative approach to teaching, encouraging students to slow down, look closely, and enjoy the process of making art. This July, she’ll be co-leading our K - 3rd grade summer camps, and we can’t wait for young artists to learn with her.
