Today we will begin to reveal the Uncle Rico's Van Decal Contest winners. As a reminder, there were 3 prompts students could use as a guide for their artwork: That's So Richmond, Mummy Summer Fun, or Napoleon Dynamite. Also, thanks again to artist Latosha Stone Keagy Tosha Ann for digitizing these original student works. These have been translated flawlessly.

A great place to begin as we reveal the decal contest winners is this work by Alan Santiago, Fairview, 2nd Grade. GOSH! that's some nice work, Alan.

The results are in for the RAM/Flying Mummies Uncle Rico's Van Decal contest. Many designs were turned in. We even had a special guest participant submit original artwork, Efren Ramirez .efrenramirez, aka Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite! Examples of winning designs will be featured on RAM socials leading up to RAM night at the ballpark, June 18th 2026.

Thank you to all the participants. There were some great entries and we couldn't choose them all. Congratulations to the selected artists. The artwork is now being digitized to be made into decals by artist Latosha Stone-Keagy Thank you, Latosha!

Be on the lookout on the Richmond Flying Mummies social pages for information about when the big reveal of the van will be. Winners or winner's parent/guardian should email [email protected] with contact information for future notifications pertaining to the contest.

Taste of Art Tuesday this week features a work by Foster Fellowship artist, Kate Orr, entitled, Pegasus. This drawing won Best of Show in the 124th Annual Exhibition of Indiana and Ohio Artists at RAM, the first time Kate had entered the competition!

Last week Kate visited several places and engaged with a variety of demographics, bringing art to where people are. From First Graders at Fairview to Elders at Friends Fellowship and The Leland Legacy, this program inspired many. Two sessions at Centerville High School and Richmond High School, a Kiwanis meeting, and an artist gathering at The Hive downtown Richmond, as well as a great session with Mark Van Buskirk's painting students at Earlham College, had people thinking about art, making art and enjoying the creative process.

The inaugural week of the Foster Fellowship touched the lives of more than 130 people in the community and at the same time, supported the work of a living artist; two things that speak to the core of RAM's mission.

Thank you to everyone who was involved, from the Fosters to the Fairview First Graders, RAM is proud to be offering such an engaging program.

Richmond's beloved artist, Sontina Reid is up for The People's Artist award, a nationwide contest, and needs your votes to secure it.

Sontina's artwork is unfettered, raw and exploratory. She paints with emotion, thought, and a vision which explores the universe. There is always more to her work; layers, symbols, hidden meaning. She is a visionary, a time traveler, a kind soul, and an amazing artist.

You can cast 1 free vote per day or add some more votes with a donation.
