Spots in the RLS Creative Writing Summer Camp are ALMOST FULL!

The RLS Creative Writing Summer Camp is a four-day creative writing experience designed for rising 6th–8th grade students, taking place June 22–25 from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM. Each day introduces a different genre (Poetry, Adventure, Horror and Travel) giving students the chance to experiment with a range of styles while developing their own unique approach to storytelling.

This is not a traditional classroom program. Instead, students will write within the museum itself, using real objects, historical context, and the Napa Valley landscape as inspiration. Through guided exercises, collaborative activities, and hands-on prompts, participants will engage with writing in a way that feels active, imaginative, and personal.

Students may enroll in individual sessions or attend the full four-day program. Over the course of the week, they will create original work, gain confidence in their ideas, and connect with other young writers in a supportive environment.

At the end of the week, all participants are invited to take part in our first Youth Writing Recital Night on June 26, where they can share their work with family, friends, and the community in a welcoming and celebratory setting.

Program Details
June 22–25
9:00 AM–1:00 PM
$30 per session or $100 for all four days

Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged. Scholarships are available to ensure that all interested students have the opportunity to participate.

We believe writing is one of the most powerful ways young people can explore their ideas and connect with the world around them. We would love to welcome your student to this unique summer experience.

Happy Anniversary to our favorite couple, Robert Louis Stevenson and F***y Stevenson! They were married on May 19, 1880 in an intimate ceremony, witnessed by their friend Dora Norton Williams.

After the wedding, the newlyweds travelled to Napa Valley for their honeymoon. They were joined by F***y’s young son Lloyd, and they explored the area before settling into an abandoned bunkhouse on Mt. St. Helena!

This adventurous couple travelled the world together, from California, to Europe, to the South Seas. Visit the RLS Museum to learn more about their life together!

Happy Mother's Day from the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum!

Margaret Balfour Stevenson, mother of Robert Louis Stevenson, was immensely proud of her son and his talent. She would frequently write his stories down when he was a child and supported him throughout his life. After all, our mothers are often our first fans!

We hope you have a very happy !
