I am having fun with roses right now. It is a far difference than when I did photo real roses years ago! This is fun! Entertaining! and Stimulating for me. And I am loving the orange area. It's a small one. Only 12x12 and is available in my studio...as soon as it dries!

“Torrent of Blooms” is a lively tumble of flowers caught mid-splash, spilling out of a purple and lavender vase with plenty of bold brushstrokes and a few drips for good measure. I worked with a rich mix of pinks, oranges, yellows, and whites, letting the paint move freely and see where it wanted to go. The background is a soft blue that feels calm but lets the flowers take center stage. Creating this one was all about embracing the energy and letting the composition feel a little wild without losing its warmth. It’s my take on a floral moment that’s fresh, bold, and a bit untamed—and that’s exactly how I like it.

It's a new 12 by 12-inch oil painting called “Glass Blossom Reverie” with a lively bunch of flowers—yellow daisies with those moody dark centers, soft pink roses, and a big pinkish-red star stealing the spotlight—all tucked into a clear glass vase. I let the brushstrokes get thick and noticeable, going for that textured, impressionistic feel. Painting this one was like having a playful conversation with the paint—sometimes it had its own ideas, and I just followed along. It’s bright, warm, and a bit wild, but still feels like a cozy spot you want to peek into again.

I just wrapped up a new 12 by 12-inch oil painting called “Blush of Roses in Glass.” It’s a loose, impressionistic bouquet of big pink flowers that definitely lean into their rose vibes, sitting in a glass vase you can almost see light bouncing off of. I played with drips and splashes to keep things feeling fresh and spontaneous, like the flowers might still be swaying from a breeze. The blues in the background are there to hold everything together without stealing the show. Painting this one was about capturing a moment—soft, colorful, a little wild, but still warm and inviting. Sometimes it’s fun to let the brush do its own thing and see where the paint wants to go.

Here’s a new little oil painting I’m calling “At Peace.” It’s a 12 by 12-inch escape to a quiet beach where two palm trees stand close together like old friends, leaning in over soft sand and calm water. I focused on capturing the gentle sway of the fronds and the smooth curve of the shoreline, using soft blues and greens to keep the whole scene feeling relaxed and tropical. Making this piece was all about slowing down and letting the brush move easily—no fuss, just the kind of peaceful vibe I wanted to share. It’s the kind of place I’d love to visit when I need a breather, and hopefully it does the same for you.

I just finished a new little oil painting called “Sandy Shores.” It’s a 5 by 5-inch snapshot of a tropical beach that feels like a mini escape. Two palm trees lean in on the left, their trunks rough and warm, with fronds that flicker between green, orange, and white—like they’re catching the sunlight just right. The sandy shore beneath them got some broad, carefree strokes in beige and light brown, and the ocean stretches out in blues and turquoise, dotted with tiny shimmering waves. The sky blends soft blues, purples, and pale yellows, giving the whole thing this calm, early morning or late afternoon vibe. Painting such a small scene meant focusing on the details that bring the atmosphere to life without overthinking it, and I enjoyed playing with texture and light to create something peaceful but full of energy. It’s a little corner of coast I’d happily visit anytime. Available in my studio.

I just finished a tiny 6 by 6 mixed media piece called “Dancing in the Sunset,” and I had a blast bringing a little forest party to life. The trees are thick and textured, painted with all kinds of browns, blues, and purples—it’s like they’re stretching tall just before sundown. What makes this one special? Well, hidden among the trunks are these skinny, dancing figures that seem to glow with movement. To me, it’s a glimpse of a mystical woodland where trees and people blend into one happy dance. Playing with layers and colors to catch that warm, autumn light kept things lively and fun from start to finish. I just finished a little 5 by 5-inch piece called “Beneath Turquoise Skies,” and it’s kind of like a secret snapshot of a wild day outdoors. I played with texture in a big way—layering mixed media so the trees actually feel like you could reach out and touch their long, skinny trunks. I wanted the river to cut across the scene like a cool, calm pause beneath a sky that’s all light and playful with turquoise splashes popping up where you least expect them. Working small keeps me on my toes, especially when adding all those textured layers, but I love how it all comes together into something you can get lost in, even if it’s just five inches wide. I just finished a tiny, stormy coastal scene called “Stormy Seas,” measuring only 4 by 6 inches. I worked with mixed media to get that rough, lively texture—especially on the palm trees, which have these curved, bumpy trunks that feel almost alive. The ocean below crashes with bold white waves, painted in broad, loose strokes, while the sky swirls with soft blues and whites to bring in some movement and mood. It’s a small piece, but I wanted it to feel big and energetic, like you can almost hear the wind and water. Painting in this impressionistic, expressive style lets me chase that feeling of wildness without getting too tidy. Creating “Stormy Seas” was a fun challenge to capture a moment that’s kind of messy, kind of calm, and definitely full of life. Available at Art Collective, St. Augustine.

I just finished a tiny new piece called “Peaceful Sea,” measuring 4 by 6 inches. It’s a mixed media painting where I got to play with lots of texture—especially on the palm tree trunks and fronds, which came out thicker and more lively than I expected. The ocean slides right into the sky with soft blues and turquoises, and the clouds have this casual, swirling vibe that somehow makes you want to take a deep breath and slow down. I kept the brushstrokes loose and a bit wild to capture that calm, tropical feeling without getting too precious about it. It’s a small window into a place where everything just feels easy and bright—exactly the kind of spot I like to visit, even if it’s just on a little canvas.
