Join BIG ARTS for Art Vibe—a fun, free evening celebrating art, community, and local talent. Everyone is welcome.

There will be student exhibits from FSW’s Visual Arts program and the Sanibel School, plus a Creative & Performing Arts Scholarship celebration. You can also enjoy live music, artist demonstrations, and stop by the gift shop artists.

And for the good stuff—there will be craft beer from No. 3 Craft Beers, wine and soda from the BIG ARTS bar, wood-fired pizza from Vesuvius, and fresh lemonade from Dr. Lemon-Aid Shakers

Big Arts was honored to host the City of Sanibel’s 2026 Hurricane Seminar this afternoon.

We loved seeing so many island friends and partners here —this program is a vital part of our summers, and we’re grateful to be part of it.

Today, we were happy to welcome a group from the Special Populations Center to the Dunham Family Gallery to view their artwork on display in the Art as Therapy exhibition.

The Special Populations Center provides programs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, including life skills development, adult day training, and a variety of after-school, evening, and special event activities.

It was a meaningful experience for the group to see their work presented in a gallery setting and to celebrate their creativity and accomplishments. ❤

All-Levels Workshop

Dana will encourage students of All-Levels to explore their creativity during this handbuilding pottery workshop. Students will practice the “slab” method, the “scratch and slip” method, use coils, press molds, add texture and decorative details using various tools and everyday objects to create their very own sun or sunflower. Tools will be provided by BIG ARTS. – Supply fee pays for a 10 lb. bag of clay and glaze.

Artists featured in the Art as Therapy exhibit have been visiting their work and bringing their communities with them! On May 14th, artist Gabriel Aleman visited with Danielle Brandt of Hope Healthcare to view his work and tour our building. Then, on May 20th, a group from LARC Inc. — which has served individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Lee and northern Collier Counties since 1954 — spent the afternoon exploring the exhibit through a scavenger hunt and enjoyed lunch in the gallery.

Art as Therapy is a moving collaboration between Hope Healthcare's Art Therapy Program and Lee Health's Arts in Healthcare Program. The exhibit is on display through June 5th in the Dunham Family Gallery - We encourage everyone to experience this incredible exhibit.
