I am so honored to have received an Award of Recognition for my painting "Ghosts in the Bayou" at the Watercolor Society of Alabama Annual Member Showcase at The Kelly Fitzpatrick Center for the Arts. Thank you to awards judge Rick Anderson.The exhibit continues until September 12th.

🌞 The summer sun in the South has a superpower: turning me into a recluse. 😂

My NY skin, after 6 summers in North AL, STILL has not adjusted to the blowtorch air of August. Add in the not-so-special delight of dealing with poison ivy that got the best of me for about three weeks, traveling, life struggles, and homeschooling my girls through the summer (we school year-round)… and, well, here we are. 😂

But I’m ready for a change of pace. I’m ready to step back into a more focused connection with creating—and with you guys here.

This week alone, I’ve received a handful of messages here and several emails from people saying hi, checking in on me, wondering where I’ve been, asking if I’ll be at any shows, or asking if I’ll be taking commissions for Christmas.

First of all, THANK YOU. ❤️ Seriously. It means more than you know that you’ve noticed my absence and taken the time to reach out.

I had hoped to do more fall markets this year, but this season of life has had other plans. I WILL be doing a Christmas market, but that will most likely be it for this year.

I’ll also be opening my calendar for commissions for 2027 soon, but I’ll only be taking on 2 or 3. 😁 So if you’ve been waiting for one, keep an eye out!

Thank you to amazing, award winning artist Liphus M. (Mick) Swindall for your donation to the United Givers Fund of Jackson County's campaign kickoff auction!
