Sedona Arts Center is one of Northern Arizona’s most well-established cultural organizations and serves as the creative heart of Sedona. Founded in 1958, the nonprofit organization is based at the Art Barn in Uptown and offers year-round classes, exhibitions, festivals, and cultural events that enhance the creative life of the Verde Valley. The Center’s Fine Art Gallery promotes the original works

of over 100 local artists and regularly offers special assistance for collectors and art buyers, offers private studio visits, and fosters hundreds of arts education opportunities each year.

Call to Artists: Freedom

Sedona Arts Center invites artists nationwide to apply for Freedom; a juried exhibition exploring the many dimensions of liberation through contemporary art. From personal and political perspectives to cultural and creative expression, this powerful exhibition celebrates art as a catalyst for reflection, connection, and change.

Artists may submit up to three works created within the last three years across a wide range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and installation. All artwork must be available for sale and cannot have been previously exhibited at Sedona Arts Center.

Awards include Best of Show ($500), Second Place ($250), Third Place ($150), Honorable Mentions, and a People’s Choice Award.

Exhibition Dates: July 3 – August 16, 2026
Opening Reception: July 3, 2026 | 4–6 PM
Location: Sedona Arts Center, Sedona, Arizona
Entry Fee: $40 non-refundable
Deadline to Apply: May 29, 2026 at 11:59 PM MDT
