🐍🎁 Meet the oldest toy in the Field House Museum collection! Dating to 1780, this fascinating "Snake in a Box" works much like a jack-in-the-box—the snake springs out when the lid is slid open, surprising unsuspecting visitors. 😲✨

🎨📚 This photograph of Maxfield Parrish and examples of his illustrations highlight the artist behind Eugene Field’s Poems of Childhood, published in 1904.

Field’s wife, Julia Field, insisted that no one else illustrate the beloved collection, helping create one of the most memorable collaborations in children’s literature. ✨📖
