Save the date! Saturday, November 14th at 1pm our very own Dick Benach will take up the role of Junior Officer Robert Zavel. Lieutenant Colonel Zavel was assigned to the security detail protecting President Lincoln at the Summer White House located just north of Washington, D.C.

LTC Zavel had almost daily contact with the President, and observed Mr. Lincoln with family members, guests, and official visitors. Lt. Colonel Zavel (Dick Benach) will share some personal memories and will read some of the President’s oral and written messages addressed to the people and country he loved so well… The UNITED States of America.

As always, the event is FREE, but please remember to RSVP on our website (link in bio) or by calling us at 314-421-4689.

Meet Emily! She's helping out around the museum while Stephanie Lake is on leave. We're super excited to be working with her, and in order to help all of you get to know her better, we asked her some questions about her interests, experience as a museum professional, and connection to Saint Louis.

This Sunday! The Field House Museum will welcome author and historian Dr. John Wright Senior.

Dr. Wright will discuss his book, Carondelet, and explore the storied past of one of St. Louis’ oldest neighborhoods. With a history of diversity, Carondelet was the home of a large population of African Americans and Irish, German, and Italian immigrants whose stories the Carondelet community continues to preserve. Join us at the Field House Museum as we dive into the history of St. Louis with one of its most passionate storytellers!

This program is completely free, but availability (both in-person and on Zoom) is limited. So, reservations must be made in advance on our website (link in bio) or by calling the Museum at 314-421-4689.

Donation alert! Some of the most exciting days here at the Field house are when someone comes in with Field family items that we've never seen before, and just recently, we got a new donation of Field family books and ephemera in the form of the Masinelli collection. So, if you have or know of any items that relate to the Field family and their home, shoot us an email to let us know at [email protected]
