House tours provide visitors with an overview of the history of the site from the early 1800s to the present, focusing on the lives and legacies of the Call and Collins families. House tours are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and currently availab

le at the following times:

Wednesday - Friday at 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. Saturday at 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m, 2:00 p.m. Group Tours

Tours for groups of ten (10) or more are available at $1.00 per guest. Please contact [email protected] in advance for group tour arrangements. Grounds

The grounds at The Grove Museum are open Wednesday to Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Site Policies

Well-behaved pets on leashes may visit the grounds during normal operating hours. Only service animals are permitted inside the house. Alcohol and to***co are not permitted on the premises. For the safety of all guests, motorized vehicles (other than personal mobility devices), bicycles, skateboards and skates are not permitted. Wheelchairs are available on-site for use in the historic house.

College Football is BACK! 🏈 We're kicking off Florida State Seminoles and Florida A&M Rattlers football first game of the season with a few memories from The Grove's own Governor LeRoy Collins. Sixty-six years ago, Governor LeRoy Collins and daughter Jane attended a home game with FSU President Gordon W. Blackwell, a full house at Campbell Stadium in the season opener. ❤️💛 Also pictured is LeRoy Collins with retired Coach Alonzo Smith "Jake" Gaither, record-breaking athletic director and head football coach of the Florida A&M Rattlers from 1945-1969 and 1975 Inductee of the National Football Foundation Hall of Fame. 💚🧡 Governor LeRoy Collins was born and raised in Tallahassee and remained a lifelong football fan.

Welcome back to this month’s installation of Curator’s Corner! I’ve been busy getting ready to install a new temporary exhibition at The Grove but that doesn’t mean I am going to leave you without your behind-the-scenes peek into the collection! This month, we are taking a look at Governor LeRoy Collins’ home library. He has hundreds of books, many of them gifted to him by the authors. Some of them even wrote Governor Collins’ personal notes! Which one is your favorite?

Remember if you find yourself at The Grove-- even though Governor Collins’ study is open to walk through, please do not touch any of the artifacts!

“Happy National Dog Day 🐶 from The Grove Museum!

Curator Morgan brought Goob, her furry four-legged bestie for his first visit to The Grove.

Celebrate every Wednesday through Saturday by visiting with your fluffiest loved ones. While pets are not permitted inside the museum galleries, doggie bags and water bowls are available for use on the grounds. 🐾 Bring your dog and explore our QR history and archaeology exhibits along the trail.

This Day In History:
August 18, 1920: The 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution is ratified, legally guaranteeing American women the right to vote.

The history of The Grove itself has been shaped by independent and educated women, including Caroline Mays Brevard, who was born at The Grove in 1860 as a granddaughter of Florida territorial governor Richard Keith Call. During the movement for women's suffrage in the United States, Caroline Mays Brevard was a Florida educator and founding member of a statewide organization, called the Florida Equal Suffrage Association, which was founded on Orlando in 1913.

Caroline would not live to see the ratification of the 19th amendment that she worked to promote, as she died five months earlier, and just twenty-four days apart from the death of her mother.
