Lansingburgh Historical Society The headquarters of the Lansingburgh Historical Society is located in the
Herman Melville house at 114th Street at 1st Avenue in Lansingburgh.

The headquarters is open to groups and individuals by appointment by calling
(518) 235-3501. We have no paid staff and receive no regular public funding. We welcome additional members and encourage participation and donations.

Hello Members, Friends, & Neighbors!

The Gardens at the 1786 Herman Melville House have become more beautiful each year thanks to you!

Please come join us for our Annual Garden Clean-Up this Saturday, April 25th, from 10 AM to Noon.

This is a 1-bedroom 1-person apartment with heat, water and garbage pickup provided by the Historical Society. Renter pays electric. Monthly Rent: $850 +Electric.

The unit has been updated with a new shower, sink and new flooring in the bathroom. New cabinets have been installed in the kitchen along with a new stove and refrigerator.

No smoking is permitted inside the home or on the grounds of the property. No pets are allowed. References from previous landlords and proof of employment in the form of a current pay stub are required. A 1-month security deposit is required.

This is a quiet area of the 'Burgh located at 1st Ave. and 114th St. with beautiful views of the river and a park across the street. There is a fenced yard.
