And we are done.
It makes my throat tight just to think on it. May the Lord doing things beyond us never become so normal that we do not stop and reflect in awe…
12 kiddos from Tuscaloosa
17 kiddos from Bibb
…& when we parceled everything out the first time, we had a LOT left. I whipped out my phone to message a case worker to ask for more kids, but stopped and prayed quickly, & was impressed that the Lord was telling me to wait.
Less than 24 hours later, a fellow foster mama from Marengo County posted they were trying to sponsor 400 kids who were from homes with low-income when the regular sponsor dropped last minute. We literally packed Mr. Stephen’s truck with all the boxes we possibly could. How many kids was that? Who cares. What do we care about? That in July, when I was filling the cart with discounted art kits and footballs and all the toiletry items, that God knew they were going to kids in Marengo County long before I even knew that was an option. And y’all, he not only knows the number, but also their names, their stories, their hearts, and their days to come…
Super special shout out to the middle schoolers who raised almost $1000 fighting it out for a PJ Day, the ministry class who wrapped the first five kids’ gifts and organized the whole lot of them, the JV cheerleaders who wrapped something like fifty gifts, to the community groups who came and wrapped and the other high schoolers who toted gifts, made things nice, helped load and unload—literally could not have done it without them.
Whoever is kind to those in need honors God.
