A stitch in time unfolds at Bowers Museum!
Bowers Museum’s newest exhibition, “The American Quilt: Cloth and Commerce,” is now on view through August 30th. Featuring more than 40 quilts and coverlets, the exhibition explores how trade, technology, and community have been woven together across generations.
Karen took these photos of some of the intricate quilt work on opening night. The vast majority of quilts are actually in Bowers Museum’s own collection. Seeing these textiles up close with every stitch, texture, and detail carefully preserved along with their history was inspiring.
P.S. Check out the patterns and newsprint framed with black frames… Chemers Gallery was honored to provide the framing!
When you find yourself nearby this summer, this exhibit is well worth a visit! For more information, visit the Bowers Museum’s website.
