A stitch in time unfolds at Bowers Museum!

Bowers Museum’s newest exhibition, “The American Quilt: Cloth and Commerce,” is now on view through August 30th. Featuring more than 40 quilts and coverlets, the exhibition explores how trade, technology, and community have been woven together across generations.

Karen took these photos of some of the intricate quilt work on opening night. The vast majority of quilts are actually in Bowers Museum’s own collection. Seeing these textiles up close with every stitch, texture, and detail carefully preserved along with their history was inspiring.

Despite all the rumors and news you may have heard about Enderle Center…Chemers Gallery is not moving from our current location…yet!

We’re making progress on our not so bare walls!

Rehanging the whole gallery is no easy task, especially with such a diverse collection of artwork. We’re taking our time to weave everything together into one cohesive, lively vibe.

Since Monday, we’ve already refreshed 4 more walls, and the new energy feels upbeat yet zen. With summer on the horizon, we’re loving how the bright and fun colors are bringing everything to life.

More progress will be made so visit us to see the rest!
