Attention Civil War History lovers! Greetings from the Wildwood Historical Society. Please come see Uncovering History: Centaur During the Civil War

On Tuesday, May 19th at 7:00 pm WHS member and researcher, Ellen Reichert, will be presenting the story of eight enslaved men who fled from Wild Horse Creek Road to voluntarily join the US Colored Troops on March 17, 1864. Ellen will share the story of these freedom-seekers and the related history that she has uncovered about the plantation owners and enslaved people who lived in Meramec Township at the time of the Civil War.

The event will be at our meeting hall located at 18750 Hwy 100, Wildwood Mo (just one drive west of Stovall’s). As usual refreshments will be served and this event is free to the public.

The Coffee is held at City Hall, 16860 Main Street (63040).
Join Mayor Joe Garritano for Coffee with the Mayor, where you can learn about city projects, meet community leaders and residents and get your questions answered. It is a great time to learn about what is happening in our great City and meet up with your neighbors as well.

Please Note - Due to the ā€˜Salute to Our Veterans’ Ceremony tomorrow, the Coffee with the Mayor is being relocated to the City Council Chambers and will not be held in the Community Room. Given the change in room location, the Coffee will not be available for viewing via Zoom tomorrow only.

The City of Wildwood is honored to celebrate our local veterans on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 8:30 a.m. (immediately following Coffee with the Mayor). This special event, held in front of City Hall, pays tribute to the brave men and women who served our nation.

Mayor Joe Garritano will deliver remarks. All veterans in attendance will receive a special gift as a token of appreciation. We invite all residents, veterans, and their families to join us in this meaningful tribute.
