Our 2026 John H. Adamson Excellence in Historic Preservation Award winners were announced at our recent annual meeting and dinner. Recipients are recognized for their outstanding contributions to local heritage.

The Mount Jackson Museum was awarded for its comprehensive book, "Mount Jackson, Virginia: Celebrating 200 Years of History," a deeply researched commemorative volume detailing the town’s history from pre-European settlement to the modern era.

Also honored was world-renowned military artist and historian Keith Rocco, who served as the designer and coordinator for the 2024 80th Anniversary D-Day Omaha Beach Exhibit at the John O. Marsh National Guard Armory in Woodstock. The exhibit, presented on 10 days over three weekends, commemorated the D-Day landings through artistry, dioramas, and educational outreach.
