Life is Art Gallery is a small art space located in the heart of Antwerp. It provides a platform for all artists but focuses on emerging ones.

Xuanlynn Wang (b. 1994 TW) works across a material-based practice, photography, and performance to explore the intricate relationship between humanity and the natural world. Her works are influenced by the subtle, fleeting moments in her surroundings.

Through the synthesis of these mediums, she develops a distinctive visual language that invites reflection on the intrinsic beauty of the organic world and our deep connection to it. Her works create a dialogue between image and natural materials, merging environmental presence with artistic expression.

Her practice evokes an emotional awareness of time and nature—how they continuously shape and reshape the textures of our everyday surroundings.

Xuanlynn's solo-exhibition "To What I Left Behind" opens this Saturday 12:00 to 17:00 at the gallery, make sure to pass by and see it! 🗓️

In two weeks time we will open the solo-exhibition “To What I Left Behind” by Xuanlynn Wang

“What is left behind is engraved in the mind. It lingers in gestures, worn surfaces, inherited habits, fragments of language, and the quiet spaces between generations. Distance alters the meaning of home, turning absence into something tangible—something that can be touched, rearranged, carried, and remembered.

Through acts of making, private memories enter into dialogue with land, family, and cultural inheritance. Images become a language without words. Rituals become gestures of rebellion, unsettling inherited ideals of beauty and the restrained aesthetics of the traditional family. Guilt is pressed onto a letter sent into the sky. Materials hold the final traces of a conversation, allowing texture to speak where words fall silent.

These works inhabit the space between here and there, between what was left and what remains—a space where longing takes form, where memory leaves a trace, and where making becomes a way of returning.”
