A few weeks ago we visited .berlin in their studio, got to see their artists’ work and learn more about their practice.

Yesterday they came to visit us and we shared a glimpse into how our Artists work here at GLO.

We ended the evening with some snacks in the garden and lots of lovely conversations. Grateful for these exchanges and for getting to know each other better ! 🫂✨

Meet our current on-site artist Czeslawa Wojtkjowski

Czeslawa interrogates trans and non-binary femme representation through fiber art, new media, and collage techniques. Sourcing material from sensationalized, often disposable media like tabloids, erotic ephemera, direct-to-video VHS films. Czeslawa transforms the subjects depicted therein into precious treasures. The process ensures that every interaction with my subjects’ visages is made with the utmost intention. Thoughtfully choosing and placing photographs, fabrics, and embellishments are acts of resistance.

At GlogauAIR the artist continues the material and conceptual research through brightly colored maximalist fabric banners that assert the autonomy and rights of transgender and non binary femmes.Responding to rising political hostility Czeslawa embraces visibility and intensity as a form of resistance transforming anger into unapologetic expression. Drawing from Berlin’s q***r club culture the artist creates banners from sequins mesh and velvet combining decadence with protest to evoke the energy and defiance of q***r nightlife.

Meet our current on-site artist Jupiterfab

Jupiterfab is a community focused multimedia artist who combines art and science in socially engaged projects. The artist has worked in over 20 countries, collaborates with international organizations, and creates site specific exhibits with visual art, audio, and video installations. Their main media are murals and paintings, using exaggerated characters to express emotion and inspire reflection, dialogue, and community transformation.

At GlogauAir Jupiterfab presents *Is This Modern Society?* , an ongoing global project exploring how digital technology shapes communication and daily life. Created in 2016, the work combines artistic and educational approaches to question our relationship with screens and social networks. the artist collaborates with universities, museums, and public institutions to develop murals, multimedia installations, and talks addressing social, psychological, and cultural implications of digital use. Through art and dialogue, Jupiterfab aims to foster awareness and a more balanced interaction with technology worldwide.

Meet our current on-site artist Meredith Toyama .toyama

Influenced by their childhood spent in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, Meredith Toyama is interested in exploring how we exist in relation to others and the relationship between the mind and body.
With their primary medium of expression being painting and drawing, Toyama’s practice seeks to externalise their internal world, showcasing how one perceives and expresses their thoughts, as well as how we share space and emotions.

At GlogauAir the artist explores memory as it attaches to objects, focusing on emotional connections, nostalgia, and shared experience. Inspired by personal and inherited items, the work examines how intimate and collective bonds are formed through stories and material traces. The practice reflects on how individual feelings can resonate beyond personal experience and become collectively understood.

GlogauAIR is accepting applications for the July–September 2026 session of its Online Residency Program. This 3-month program brings together artists from around the world to engage, collaborate, and develop their creative practice, no matter where they are based.

What the Program Offers:
• One-to-one curatorial support
• Group meetings and workshops
• Online interviews
• Online exhibition during Virtual Open Studios
• Inclusion in GlogauAIR’s printed program catalogue

Duration:
✧ July–September 2026

Who Can Apply:
Artists from all nationalities and artistic disciplines are welcome. The program is designed for those who prefer or require a flexible, remote residency experience.

Program Fee:
300 euros per month (total fee: 900 euros for 3 months)

How to Apply:

• Prepare your CV, artist statement, project proposal, and images of your work
• Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Early submission is encouraged for priority consideration.

Meet our current on-site artist Chiu I-Chi

Chiu I-Chi is a Taiwanese artist whose work explores the relationship between the body, nature, and trauma through fictional organisms. Drawing from personal experiences of illness, caregiving, and recovery, she creates hybrid life forms that merge human and botanical elements. Working across painting, embroidery, soft sculpture, and installation, she constructs biological landscapes that reflect processes of healing, mutation, and decay.

At GlogauAir, Chiu I-Chi continues her exploration of fictional human-like species reflecting how life transforms under environmental and cultural pressures. She creates five soft sculptures representing the life cycle of an invented species from birth to death alongside paintings depicting their habitat anatomy and cellular forms. Drawing from her family background in body piercing she uses piercing as a symbolic language within the species marking identity memory and rites of passage.

Meet our current on-site artist Siyuan Qin (Luna)

Luna is a Berlin-based artist and visual designer working across AI imagery, moving image, 3D, and interactive media. the artist explores digital culture and experimental storytelling, examining how AI reshapes visual language, authorship, and perception across digital and physical forms.

At GlogauAir Luna develops an interdisciplinary project combining AI-generated imagery, moving image, and spatial installation. the artist explores belief, projection, and the emotional impact of AI visuals, using glitches and instability to intensify meaning. Through 3D printing and AR, digital images shift into physical and immersive forms, shaped by iterative processes of generation and transformation.
