collezione grande 25.04.—30.05.2026

Three distinct visual languages, three different rhythms — yet a shared tension between material and space. Bea Meyer’s organic sensitivity, Katharina Immekus’ subtle structures, and Max Brück’s industrial minimalism create a compelling dialogue. Form, weight, repetition and silence unfold in different ways, while remaining quietly connected.

collezione grande 25.04.—30.05.2026

A closer look at selected works from our current group exhibition: Anna M. Kempe, Caroline Hake and Uta Koslik. While Anna M. Kempe explores fragile spaces between intimacy and conflict, Caroline Hake reflects on the tensions between ideals and reality, and Uta Koslik investigates form, space and perception through a reduced visual language — each unfolding a distinct artistic perspective.

Behind the scenes - a glimpse into the making of collezione grande, our current group exhibition.

Moments when the space is still taking shape, the works are still finding their place, and every small decision adds something to the whole. What usually stays in the background becomes a little more visible.

Anna Vovan
die Stimme

By exposing both sides of a magazine page onto a single sheet, front and back collapse into one image. Layers interfere, overlap, and partially erase one another.
What was once meant to be read becomes difficult to decipher—language shifting into image, and image into surface.

The works on view in our current exhibition die Stimme, are based on editions of the magazine Stimme der Frau (Voice of the Woman, 1955–56).
Through processes of extraction and reduction, Anna Vovan isolates fragments of text and image. Without rewriting or rearranging, meaning emerges through selection alone.
Each piece retains traces of its origin while shifting into a new, condensed form.

Anna Vovan
die Stimme

Works in the exhibition die Stimme are presented in sparse constellations, allowing each image to remain self-contained.
Developed in the darkroom, the photographs condense front and back pages of magazine spreads into single, layered surfaces. Fragments overlap, dissolve, and resist clear reading.
What emerges are compressed images, hovering between visibility and erasure.

Anna Vovan (*1980 Ettenheim, lives and works in Leipzig) studied Photography at HGB Leipzig, and attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna (2006–2007). In 2011, she received a Diploma in Fine Arts with a focus on Photography. From 2014 to 2017, she was a master student under Prof. Ingo Meller at HGB Leipzig. Since 2012, Anna has been a member of the producer’s gallery Galerie b2_.
Selected exhibitions include BINGO (a&o Kunsthalle, Leipzig, 2025), Fokus Foto (Kunstverein Freunde Aktueller Kunst, Zwickau, 2025), HYPERNATURAL (EMOP, Kommunale Galerie Berlin, 2025), Hold your own (Galerie b2, Leipzig, 2023, solo), and Letters (slid under a door) (Galerie Hinten, Chemnitz, 2022, solo).
Her work has been supported by numerous grants and residencies, including the Kulturstiftung des Freistaates Sachsen (2026), Stiftung Kunstfonds / NEUSTART plus (2023), Neue Werkstatt für Fotografie, klub solitär, Chemnitz (2022), and the Ostdeutsche Sparkassenstiftung (2025).
Anna practice spans photography, installation, and conceptual work, exploring language, communication, and the interplay between visual and textual narratives.

We are happy to share first impressions from Anna Vovan’s exhibition opened on March 14.

Anna Vovan
die Stimme
until April 18

In „die Stimme“ (the voice) Anna Vovan explores how language—absorbed, inherited and internalized—shapes identity across generations. The project originates from a found archive of women’s magazines from the 1950s, discovered in the artist’s family home.
Through processes of selection, reduction, and recomposition, Vovan constructs a fragmented inner monologue, revealing how external voices
condense into an intimate, often critical inner voice. Alongside text-based works, image material is reworked in the darkroom, merging front and back pages into condensed visual forms.
The exhibition reflects on memory, authorship, and the subtle transmission of norms—tracing how voices of the past continue to resonate in the present.
