Craft NI is delighted to welcome silversmith Cara Murphy for an artist’s talk accompanying 'A Thirst for Silver' on October 22nd, at 6pm at Craft NI Gallery! This special event is part of the Belfast International Arts Festival.
The exhibition, presented by Contemporary British Silversmiths, shows the work of over 50 leading contemporary silversmiths from across the UK, and it explores the enduring relationship between silver, ceremony and ritual through the traditional form of the beaker.
Based in County Down, Cara is a Royal Warrant Holder, a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths, an Associate Academician of the Royal Ulster Academy and Chair of Contemporary British Silversmiths. Her silverware is held in major collections including the Ulster Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum and The Silver Trust at Downing Street, reflecting her exceptional craftsmanship and reputation within contemporary silversmithing.
