JIM WILKIE
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of one of our long standing, stalwart volunteers Jim Wilkie. Jim was there from the beginning and thanks to his dedication and support as a volunteer he helped develop the railway which we all love today. He spent a lot of his time as a guard on the railway bringing on lots of people through the ranks over the years, passing on knowledge and a good few stories through generations of volunteers, his stories won’t be forgotten!
After Jim hung up his flags and whistle he spent most of his time in Bridge of Dun as Station Master, making sure every train left on time and serving the public ensuring they left the station happy. He also would frequently be seen on his lawnmower cutting the station grass and keeping things tidy in and around Bridge of Dun. How would we describe Jim? He was a strong character with a heart of gold and a real passion for railway preservation. So tonight as we raise a dram to Jim we want to say thank you Jim. Thank you for everything, for all the years of hard work and dedication. You will certainly, never be forgotten.
