With a the golden sun and (extremely) warm light, today feels blessed by Sol, the Roman God of the sun, who was believed to ride his radiant chariot across the sky each day. If Sol's chariot carries a little too much warmth for you today, take shelter from the heat with us in Deva Roman Experience, not only is it both fun and educational, it's also a cool shelter from the heat!

Better yet, double up and get yourself a joint ticket and take a trip to our sister site Sick to Death, only over the road and also a comfortable temperature!!!

Due to the hot weather forecasted on Monday 25th May, we are sorry to say we have taken the decision to cancel Roman Zumba for your safety.

We will continue to monitor the forecast and hope to see all of you there 11.30am on Friday 29th in the amphitheatre! 💪

Our Roman soldiers are feeling right at R̶o̶m̶e̶ home with this weather! ☀️ If you're looking for something to do over the bank holiday weekend or half-term, Deva is accepting new recruits!

Open Saturday & Sunday, as well as:
Bank holiday Monday May 4th and
May half-term Saturday May 23rd - Sunday May 31st!

Most days we'll be open 10am - 6pm (last entry 5pm) - but please note on Tues May 5th we'll be open from 11:30 and on Wed May 6th we'll be open from 11am, as we have some educational groups still visiting.

The weather has been beautiful in Chester all week and you know what that means... a forecast for RAIN over the bank holiday weekend! So we thought, why not help some of our Romans get prepared?

History books of the future will say that on this day, three seconds after the camera was put down, these Romans discovered a new way to use an umbrella as an improvised weapon.

If the rainy weather is putting a damper on your bank holiday weekend plans, remember that Deva is open Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, 10am - 6pm (last entry 5pm). All the fun of Ancient Roman Chester - indoors!

Get yourself down to Deva Roman Experience for a whole lot of fun. Learn about the Romans and have a stab at being a recruit in the Roman army.

You can even buy some squishy swords, shields, and more to carry on your training home. Even our staff can't resist!

Open every Saturday & Sunday throughout May, as well as:

May half-term Saturday May 23rd - Sunday May 31st!
