Penryn-based artist Vaughan Baker cites skateboarding as one of the earliest influences on his work. From a young age, he was drawn to the graphics that covered boards, clothing, and magazines — made all the more inspiring by the fact that they were created by skateboarders themselves. That DIY spirit sparked his passion for making art and continues to shape his creative approach today.

Over the years, Vaughan’s distinctive work has appeared on skateboards, shoes, T-shirts, in books, and across countless canvases, each carrying his bold and instantly recognisable style.

As we continue sharing our latest arrivals, we had to spotlight this dreamy piece by Chloe Bonfield. Every time we talk about Chloe’s work, we find ourselves using the same words — dreamy, ethereal… but honestly, they suit her pieces perfectly. And don’t even get us started on her use of colour… pure magic.

Happy Saturday everyone! It’s set to be a busy weekend here in Falmouth with the fantastic on for the next couple of days!

We’ll be open as usual all weekend from 10–5, so if you fancy a little post-lunch wander to help settle all that delicious food, come and see us! We’ll have our usual mix of unique alternative Cornish art on display, so do pop in and say hello.

Just a heads-up that we’ll be closed on Monday for the Bank Holiday, then back open as normal from Tuesday.

Falmouth-born visual artist Zo Cerys is a graduate of Falmouth University and now works from their home studio beside in Penryn. Living in a woodland caravan with their dog, Edna, Zo brings a deep connection to material and process through printmaking and oil painting. Their work invites imagination and emotion to surface organically, taking shape in ways that feel both mystical and enigmatic. There is an enduring sense of intrigue in their practice that continues to draw us in.
