A little step back in time at Lynmouth Harbour ⚓

Dale Bowen’s love of traditional fishing boats shines through in this atmospheric painting. Soft sepia tones, tall masts and long shadows capture the charm of this much-loved spot along the coast from Ilfracombe, all beautifully framed.

And that little tower has a story of its own… The Rhenish Tower originally stored seawater for indoor baths, before later being fitted with an electric light to serve as a harbour beacon. Quite a change of duties!

🐟 A little shoal of fish has swum into the gallery!

Just look at those gorgeous ocean blues! 💙

**The Fleet Gathers** by Dale Bowen is a wonderfully colourful gathering of sails, boats and reflections, with Dale’s unmistakable playful style. 🎨🌊

Fresh from the easel and newly framed, this is the second of Dale’s latest sailing paintings to arrive at the gallery.

Lots of scooters and Mods making their annual ride through town—doing a few laps and quite rightly lapping up all the attention!

Chrome, parkas, colour and plenty of noise… such a wonderfully British sight and a bit of fun for everyone watching.

Moody skies, shimmering water and just a hint of warmth along the horizon… 🌙🌊

‘Moonlit Dance’ by North Devon artist Amy Jobes captures that magical moment when cool blue light moves across the sea beneath a vast, expressive sky.

Created in layers of oil and mixed media, it has all the rich texture and movement we love in Amy’s work, while still feeling wonderfully calm and dreamlike.

There’s something wonderfully mesmerising about watching a shoal move as one… 🐟🌊

'Big-Eyed Jacks' is an oil painting by Andrew Hasler, inspired by his own experience of encountering these fish while diving at around 15 metres. We love the way he has captured the sunlight filtering through the water as the shoal rests together, capturing both their stillness and collective energy.

This impressive deep-edge canvas has painted sides, so it is ready to hang just as it is.

Wonderful to see Danni Bradford featured in the latest issue of Devon Life! 🦋✨

The article explores Danni’s beautiful contemporary work and the centuries-old art of verre églomisé - a specialist form of reverse glass gilding now listed as a critically endangered craft by Heritage Crafts.

The magnificent ‘Kaleidoscope of Monarchs’ Danni is holding in the photograph was recently sold through Echo Beach Gallery and has now flown off to its new home! ❤️🦋

We are very lucky to currently have Danni’s stunning ‘Kaleidoscope of Blue Butterflies’ here at the gallery for visitors to see in person. 💙

There’s something rather special about our old harbour towns… ⚓️💙
