Jeremy Olson’s wondrous world lands in the Hermès windows.

Brooklyn-based Jeremy Olson has transformed the luxury house’s Madison Avenue storefront into a surreal domestic landscape, complete with an uncanny muppet-like horse.

Drawing on Hermès’ equestrian heritage while bringing his own playful visual language to the space, Olson describes the character as “the right mix of whimsy and strangeness.”

“I followed the thread of art and somehow discovered a path that would allow me to live.” - Yayoi Kusama

Yayoi Kusama has died at 97. Across more than seven decades, she transformed her visions and obsessions into an extraordinary body of work.

From Infinity Nets and mirrored rooms to pumpkins, dots and collaborations that took her art far beyond the gallery. Her influence on contemporary art and visual culture is immeasurable.

Here, we look back at the works, ideas and moments that defined her remarkable life and career.

She continued to paint until her final days, never setting aside her brush.

“Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” - Dolly Parton

Today, we remember one of the most extraordinary figures in music and popular culture history.

Dolly Parton lived a life through music, image and storytelling, from the stages of Tennessee to the visual language of Pop Art and the dreamlike worlds of artists such as Andy Warhol and David LaChapelle.

Her blonde hair, rhinestoned attire, and unmistakable voice were never simply a costume, but a beacon of light to millions of adoring fans around the world.

Dolly transformed herself into an icon while remaining unmistakably human and endlessly creative.

Jenny Holzer’s Truisms.

In her mid-twenties, Holzer was given a hefty reading list by her art school tutor. Rather than simply absorb the texts, she “reduced all the reading to one-liners.”

With a rebellious spirit, Holzer printed her one-line summaries and posted them across Manhattan.

The Truisms series grew to over 300 unforgettable slogans and has since occupied public spaces, private homes, galleries, and museum collections around the world.

If you could write your own Holzer print, what would it say?

David Bowie as Andy Warhol in Julian Schnabel’s Basquiat (1996).

Adorned in Warhol’s authentic wigs and glasses, Bowie brings his own personal experiences with Warhol to the role. Bowie describes Warhol as a ‘lethal kind of Svengali figure’.

A strange meeting of two icons, captured on screen.

“Instagram in real life”

Brent McKeever takes us inside a recreation of his COVID bedroom, a space saturated with celebrity imagery and the visual culture that shaped him.

Growing up in Malibu, McKeever became fascinated by the mythology of celebrity and the power of images to construct desire, a fascination that ultimately led him to photography.

In his debut solo exhibition LOOK, these ideas expand into a hyperreal world of lenticulars where glamour meets unease.

An Exhibition titled CONTROL, full of unplayable games.

CONTROL asks us to look beyond gameplay and consider how video game aesthetics have reshaped contemporary art.

The exhibition itself becomes a game as hidden artwork is installed like real-life “easter eggs,” rewarding visitors who stray from the main gallery.

In one performance, artist Eva Mattes entered a video game lobby begging players not to kill her because she was creating performance art... she was repeatedly killed and mocked.
