All of us Kent KCC Mills are in a difficult situation. As an Asset of Community Value -Drapers Windmill Trust has put forward an Expression of Interest in line with the timetable for Divestment. The Trust will now be working on a bid for a sustainable future.

The move would have ensured they stayed in public ownership...

Our Trust has been managing the windmill since 1965 and on this basis are always keen to explore ways to keep the Mill as a Community Asset. We also welcome any input from other Community Groups or Interests.

A bid to keep eight historic windmills under the control of the county council has failed.
