Grey Street, Newcastle

An original A4 watercolour painted in part with some metallic watercolour paints by Winsor and Newton.

I’ve never used them before but they create some interesting effects, particularly in the sky and pavement.

Black & White Army limited edition print.

Just sent out a second one this week. I know one of them is a Father’s Day present.

Could be the perfect gift for dads this year.

A few more pages from the leather bound sketchbook which I had specially made in by a bookmaker in Venice in 2006.

The pages are Amalfi watercolour paper.

I’ve painted 18 watercolours inside that represent every year from 1990 to 2007.

1990 was the year I met Susan. The next step is to hand write the text for each year which I’ve now prepared.

When this is complete I’ll be painting scenes from 2008 to 2026.

Two watercolours on both sides of a sheet of watercolour paper 28” 19”

A rural scene on the outskirts of Ponteland that was a preparation watercolour for a commission over twenty years ago.

Later that year, for some reason I decided to use the other side of the paper to paint the ruined church in Oradour Sur Glane in France where the SS murdered almost the entire village before burning the village to the ground in 1944.

Two very different scenes on one sheet. There will be a way of framing this to enjoy both paintings.

Dhow, Reflections 28” x 20”

An original watercolour of an Arabian Dhow painted on a sheet of rough Fabriano Esportazione.

Several washes of colour were used to creat the ethereal background for the dhow to rest and reflect.
