We always love seeing all the wonderful lanterns created by local Newquay schools for the lantern parade which takes place here in Trenance Gardens. However, this year adults you can also join in and make your own willow lantern.
If you are aged 16 or over, you are invited to a willow lantern workshop taking place in Cspace in Newquay on the 19th November. For full details, please see the poster below.

Reposting this lovely poem that was sent to us last year by Wendy Thomson. It was written by her father Ken Bawden, who also donated the Grandfather clock in our museum ❤️

🇬🇧Proms in the Park 2026🇬🇧

A few words from our Trustees….

What a wonderful afternoon we had at the cottages for our Proms in the Park.
The sky was blue, sun was shining, cream teas and ice cream were in great demand and the amazing Mount Charles Band once again did us proud.
Their Prom and Cornish music and songs filled the valley whilst hundreds of people sat on blankets or chairs waving their flags in patriotic unison.
Thank you for all the lovely people who bought raffle tickets as we managed to raise over £800 towards the cottages charity fund on the day.
Congratulations to all the winners🥳
Our special thanks go to:
The Headland Hotel
The Nici Hotel Newquay
Newquay Garden Centre
Green Room Dentist
The Heron Tennis Centre
Cornish Premier Pasties
Plus the many other locals and trustees for their raffle contributions ❤️
