Yesterday we managed to squeeze in a quick visit to The Dairy at Little Goonreve Farm, Penryn to see Vicki Clark Art and Fleur Parkinson , Sarah Seddon and Johanna Lay for an Open Studios Cornwall

Painted at Trevaglan Hill, , Dawn has captured this magnificent tree and far reaching landscape in acrylic on a 55 x45cm board (£375)


Dawn Dance grew up in the rugged South West peninsula of Cornwall. She trained at which she followed up with a Fashion and Textiles degree at Kingston upon Thames.

Her paintings focus on the rugged landscape of South West Cornwall and in particular the powerful atmosphere of the West Penwith area of her childhood. She finds the ancient granite geology shaped by the elements and wild open skies are addictive. She loves the way man interrupts nature, small farm buildings clinging to rocky cliffs, lanes cutting deep through gorse and bracken, ancient granite hedgerows creating pattern and interest.

This week's 'Best of Cornish' exhibition piece in the window is by .

Rippled - A moment of stillness on a sunlit beach, (£425),
Is painted in acrylics and is framed in a white tray,v frame 44 cm x 44 cm

Maggie’s art is all about her love affair with the Cornish beaches and coastline. Her meditative coastal landscapes capture a sense of being on the beach, standing at the water’s edge watching and listening to the ebb and flow of the ocean.

Capturing a moment in time, her paintings also capture a sense of both the timelessness and the transience of the coastal landscape. Tracks left in the sand and rocks newly exposed by the outgoing tide are soon lost again as the tide washes back in.

Maggie has a Fine Art degree from the University of Chichester and completed the
Porthmeor Programme at the St Ives School of Painting in 2020. She is also a co-founder of Prime Women Artists, a network set up to support women artists living and working in Cornwall.

Perfectly reflecting the gorgeous evening light we are experiencing in this brief snapshot of summer at the moment - this beauty by - just had to be switched to the front window this week.

Evening light is a large 60 x 60 cm oak framed Oil painting on board and protected by glass, is well priced at £585 as it could be the perfect centre piece for any large living room, bedroom or hallway.

Charlotte graduated with a BA honours degree in Fine Art from the Surrey Institute of art and design in 2000 moving to Perranporth Cornwall in 2004.

She has always been drawn to the coast. It's her love of the sea - immersing herself in the ocean looking out to the horizon, studying how the light interacts with the ocean creating reflections on the water and transforming the mood of the scene. Her work reflects this ever changing light and colour of the Cornish coastline watching the skyline partner the water and the colours that intwine in reflections, bringing warmth from the sun into the depths of our immense ocean, exploring the colours from our skies and seas.
