🧅Red Spring Onion by Toni Dade 🧅

In this beautifully observed botanical watercolour, Toni Dade finds elegance in the humble onion. Layers of deep crimson and violet build into a glossy, glowing bulb, set against fresh green leaves. Toni paints every detail with care and precision, celebrating the natural beauty of everyday things.

Toni is an award-winning botanical artist and RHS Gold Medal winner. Her work is displayed at Palais des Vaches Gallery alongside vivid paintings, evocative photography, exquisitely crafted ceramics and magnificent sculptures.

🎨🍽️Art and Food, side by side. 🍽️🎨

This autumn, the Palais des Vaches joins forces with Whitfield Bespoke Dining for The Theatre of Food & Art.

Join us on Saturday 7th November to browse the gallery, then settle in for nine small plates inspired by the best of local produce, with a taste of every course for each guest. Think Welsh rarebit crumpets, South Coast scallops “Thermidor”, dry rubbed bavette with chimichurri, and a vanilla brûlée with apple compote and “crumble” to finish.

The chef is Matt Whitfield, whose career includes The Montagu Arms, Marco Pierre White, Michelin-starred kitchens in Brussels and Cornwall, and a year at New York’s three-starred Eleven Madison Park.

Consciously Connecting, Paul Lloyd

Dorset-based artist Paul Lloyd's expressive paintings explore identity, emotion and the complexities of being human. Consciously Connecting, two figures sit facing each other, hands pressed together. Their bodies are full of bright reds, oranges, and blues, set against a calm, soft green background.

The Halcyon Days, John Parsons

Butterflies rise from a field of sunflowers into a luminous blue sky in this three-dimensional mixed media work, created on a circular barrel. Hand-cut wings flecked with copper and gold lift from weathered blue planks, casting shadows that shift as you move past.

🎨Artist William Pounds🎨

Two miniature oil paintings by William Pounds, displayed at the Palais des Vaches gallery.

William trained as an architectural historian before studying at Chelsea School of Art. His work combines architectural precision with a painterly touch, and has included commissions at Exbury, Dyrham Park and Kew Gardens. Seen up close, these tiny paintings show the same patient detail as his larger house portraits.

A member of the prestigious UK Register of Professional Turners, David works with a wide variety of timbers, including locally sourced Rhododendron wood from Exbury Gardens.
