Officially out in cinemas now, you can see Night & Day at the Grand cinema in our 1950s Town on Sunday, 21st June. Join author Christine Ruskin at Spain’s Field Farm this Saturday (20th June 2026) where she will be signing her book, The Disappearing Farms of Weardale.

Spain’s Field Farm, originally built in the 18th century and later extended in the 19th century, features in the book and was rebuilt at the museum to tell the story of Weardale farming in the 1950s. Copies of the book will be available to purchase from Spain's Field Farm and the Museum Shop in the Entrance Building.

We were delighted that the museum was used as a filming location of Virginia Woolf’s Night & Day, in cinemas this week. Beamish lovers and film fans alike can enjoy special screenings of the film in our Grand cinema in The 1950s Town on Sunday, 21st June.
