We are delighted that Shoemakers Museum project has won 'Client of the Year' at the Architects' Journal 100 Awards ceremony in London today.

Shoemakers Museum was nominated by Purcell Architecture who designed the museum which opened to the public in September 2025.

"Judges were impressed with the Trust's commitment to quality, enterprise and sophisticated approach to sustainability" noting the inclusion of PV to meet our energy demands, early adoption of CLT and timber-concrete composits, use of salvaged stone, and locally produced brick and lime. Purcell praised "the Trust's clarity of vision and unwaivering commitment to quality" saying "their Quaker values of community before self, quality over expedience, and long term stewardship over short term gain were present in every conversation".

Our thanks go to the Architects’ Journal our colleagues, consultants, workers and supporters on the project that made Shoemakers Museum a reality. Purcell , Mann Williams Greenway Associates, Clough Architects' Journal
