🌻This lovely group meets every fortnight and is a wonderfully creative team of volunteers who contribute significantly to a wide range of projects at the castle.

🏰Their work has included supporting various craft-based initiatives, contributing to the flower-making project, and previously taking part in activities such as weaving Saxon shields. They have also played an important role in helping to maintain and repair the castle’s costume collection, ensuring it remains in good condition.

Some of the group members pictured involved include Renu, Margaret, Helen, Mair, Lily, Sherrill, Margaret, Claire, Sonia, Anita and Sue.

Author Annie Whitehead is returning to the castle this summer as part of this year's events.
She'll be giving an informative talk about the area's Anglo-Saxon connections and looking for one Mercian woman in particular: Who was Edith?

As we spend this week celebrating , here is a lovely photograph of Colin Keeney in the Saxon Gallery talking to visitors about the Staffordshire Hoard and Saxon Tamworth during the Staffordshire Ambassador event.

Colin is just one of a wonderful group of volunteers who support in many ways here at the Castle. We are very grateful to each and everyone one of our volunteers, they all they help us to do.
