Join Ben for a FREE guided walk around Historic Wareham as part of Dorset Archaeological Days on Saturday 20 June, 10:30am–12:30pm.
Led by Ben Buxton of Wareham Town Museum, this fascinating walk will explore the famous Saxon defences that made Wareham one of the most important fortified towns in Wessex, as well as other stories from the town's rich past. Wareham's history stretches from its Iron Age origins, through its Saxon heyday, medieval prosperity, Civil War sieges, and the devastating Great Fire of 1762.
📍 Meet at Streche Road Car Park, Wareham

🥾 Please wear sturdy footwear, as the route includes some short but steep slopes.
