We are thrilled that Meridith Towne (Dress Historian & Costume Maker) will be joining us at Murton Park for our History Festival on the 15th-16th August!

CAR RALLY 🚘 Sunday 10th May

Come join us for a fabulous day out! Murton Park will be hosting the North England Classic and Pre-war Automobiles (NECPWA) YORK Branch Car Rally. Cars will range from the 1920’s-1990’s. Make sure to come along!

Even though we haven’t been running trains recently there has been lots going on at the railway, winter maintenance around the site, new fencing & gates have replaced those that were past there best it’s been a big effort by volunteers to get ready for our running season which starts very soon why not come & visit to see the transformation which has taken place over winter.

PUT THE BELOW DATE ON THE CALENDAR
Sunday 22nd March is the start of our 2026 running season.

Admission through Murton Park 1st train 11.00 then every 30 minutes last train 16.00, there is no 12.30 train it’s dinner time for us.

Schedule locomotives will be posted nearer the time.

If you are free sometime over the weekend why not pay a visit to the Ebor model railway exhibition the Derwent Valley Light Railway have a promotion stand at the event.

All proceeds from the show go to York Against Cancer so a good cause.

We wish to thank all our visitors for their support over 2025, seeing families & railway enthusiasts enjoying our railway makes what we do very worthwhile as volunteers.

It was lovely to see so many visitors getting into festive mood during our Christmas trains with some amazing costumes been worn.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.
