Symbiosis by is currently on show at SO Fine Art Editions

His practice brings together embroidery, knitting and contemporary materials such as metal and silicone, extending the possibilities of thread as a sculptural medium. Following the development of his first collection.

Delicate, meticulous and intensely labour-intensive, he pushes the boundaries of embroidery, art knitting and thread crafts. Each creation can require between 300 and 1,500 hours of labour and incorporate up to 100,000 beads. This extraordinary level of detail offers a unique approach to contemporary sculpture and the understanding of space.

SO Fine Art Editions is delighted to present Symbiosis, an exhibition by Luxembourgish sculptural textile artist and experimental embroiderer Yanis Miltgen.

Moving from fashion into embroidery, and subsequently from embroidery and knitwear into sculpture, Miltgen has developed a distinctive sculptural language that challenges conventional understandings of textile art. A graduate of Atelier Chardon Savard (Paris) and Studio Eyral (south of France), he works at the intersection of craftsmanship, contemporary art and material innovation, drawing inspiration from nature, architecture and the possibilities of transformation.

SO Fine Art Editions is delighted to welcome Dublin-based multidisciplinary artist Niall Cullen for an artist talk, followed by a Q&A, continued with a live Jazz Trio

Cullen will discuss his artistic practice, research and recent work. Working across painting, moving image, sound and installation, his multifaceted practice draws upon personal autobiographical archives while bootlegging physical and digital material from various subcultures and Irish mythology, which together form the foundation of his research and practice.

Evening Schedule 6.00pm – 7.15pm - Artist talk with Niall Cullen, followed by a Q&A, offering an opportunity to hear more about Cullen’s research, influences and recent work.

7.30pm – 8.30pm - The evening continues with a live performance by Jazz Trio:

Karl Gerraty - Saxophone
Eamon Moran - Guitar

The World Outside is a new exhibition of paintings by Dublin-based contemporary artist John Fitzsimons, drawn from a close attention to the natural world’s persistent will to endure. Across the exhibition, Fitzsimons turns his focus outward, to the instinctive drive of living things to grow, to reach toward light, to propagate and to connect with one another.
