Galeria de Arte Contemporânea Therefore, it aims to promote cultural interchange, enriching the exhibition of art and its knowledge by the public.

Situated in a privileged area in the city of Porto, Kubikgallery emerged in 2010 as a space of artistic promotion with the main purpose of representing Portuguese and foreign artists, not only in Portugal but also externally, through successive participations in international art fairs. ontemporary production and creation, excelling by professionalism and quality. Through its singular exhibition space, many forms of curation, practices and concepts are possible, opening up the spectrum of the aesthetic experience for the creators and for the spectators. No dia 21 de maio, a partir das 18h, a Kubikgallery Lisboa inaugura ‘The Rising Star’, exposição individual de Pedro Vaz.

“The Rising Star transporta-nos para um tempo em que uma estrela, ao nascer a Este, podia orientar a leitura da paisagem e dos seus ciclos. O título remete para Aldebarã, estrela vermelha cuja aparição no horizonte da Serra da Estrela, por volta de 4000 a.C., foi associada pelo arqueoastrónomo Fábio Silva à orientação dos monumentos megalíticos da região de Carregal do Sal. Esta relação entre dólmen, montanha e céu convocava uma forma antiga de inscrição cosmológica da paisagem, ligada ao movimento dos rebanhos e à ocupação temporária das pastagens de altitude.
Hoje, alguns pastores continuam a atravessar a Serra da Estrela com os seus rebanhos, mantendo uma relação física e quotidiana com a montanha. A exposição parte desta continuidade sensível entre antigas formas de orientação pelo céu e aquilo que, dessa relação primordial com a paisagem, ainda subsiste na experiência contemporânea da montanha.”

On May 21st, at 6pm, Kubikgallery Lisboa opens Pedro Vaz’s solo exhibition ‘The Rising Star’.

“The Rising Star transports us to a time when a star, rising in the East, could orient the reading of the landscape and its cycles. The title refers to Aldebaran, the red star whose appearance on the horizon of Serra da Estrela, around 4000 BCE, was associated by archaeoastronomer Fábio Silva with the orientation of the megalithic monuments in the Carregal do Sal region. This relationship between dolmen, mountain and sky summoned an ancient cosmological inscription of the landscape, connected to the movement of herds and the temporary occupation of high-altitude pastures.
Today, some shepherds continue to cross Serra da Estrela with their flocks, maintaining a physical and everyday relationship with the mountain. The exhibition emerges from this sensitive continuity between ancient forms of orientation through the sky and what, from that primordial relationship with the landscape, still subsists in the contemporary experience of the mountain.”

No dia 7 de abril, a partir das 17h, a Kubikgallery São Paulo inaugura ‘Estado Das Coisas’, exposição individual de Helen Scheunemann na Rua Lavradio 549, Barra Funda, São Paulo.

Em sua pesquisa, investiga as relações da cor e da matéria com o espaço e a luz. Vivências, memórias e imaginação aliam-se ao modo de pintar para construir sua fatura pictórica e direcionar o trabalho.
Seus motivos incluem paisagens, interiores e naturezas-mortas, permeados pela mesma atmosfera que constrói em suas faturas e que evidencia uma caligrafia pictórica própria. A construção em camadas busca preservar a latência da imagem, criando um universo onírico de materialidade e significados mudos. Como já foi dito, “o pintor não pinta o que vê, mas vê o que pinta”.

On April 7th, at 5pm, Kubikgallery São Paulo opens Helen Scheunemann’s solo exhibition ‘Estado Das Coisas’ at Rua Lavradio 549, Barra Funda, São Paulo.

In her research, she investigates the relationships between color and matter with space and light. Experiences, memories, and imagination combine with her painting style to construct pictorial technique and guide her work.
The subjects include landscapes, interiors, and still lifes, permeated by the same atmosphere that is built in her work and that reveals her own pictorial calligraphy. The layered construction seeks to preserve the latency of the image, creating a dreamlike universe of materiality and silent meanings. As has already been said, “the painter does not paint what he sees, but sees what he paints.”
