After years of practicing law as a trial attorney, I decided it was time to pursue my true passion: photography. What began with a Canon digital camera in 2010 has grown into a full-fledged creative career capturing evocative images that convey clarity, mood, and emotion. Whether it's landscapes, travel, or abstract composition, I aim to create stunning work that resonates—inviting people to not j
ust see the image, but feel it. To help achieve my own unique look, I often employ a technique – high dynamic range (HDR) photography – that merges multiple exposures of the same scene that are shot with different settings one right after the other. By capturing a wider range of luminance, details normally lost in a standard photograph are revealed in both the bright and dark areas. The camera is just the start—my real work begins in the digital darkroom, where I interpret the moment as I felt it. From 2018 to 2023, my wife Carol and I ran a photography gallery on Bainbridge Island, WA—just a short ferry ride from Seattle. While we loved being part of the local art community, we eventually closed the gallery to focus more on travel, exploration, and image-making without the demands of retail life. Photography has brought me full circle—from chasing courtroom truths to capturing quiet truths through a lens. I feel grateful to be doing work that not only feeds my creative spirit but also connects with others in meaningful ways. I hope my images stir something in you—whether it’s a memory, a question, or a moment of stillness.
