REOPENING NEWS! The International Cryptozoology Museum ~ Bangor, Maine OPENS 12-4 on Monday, June 1, 2026, and then forward 10 am to 6 pm every day (7 days per week) through Fall 2026. Please excuse our dust as we complete renovations outside the building and finishing touches inside! Grand opening weekend and ceremony yo be held July 11-12th during museum hours and at the ICM Founders Club Members-Only Grand Opening Reception!

BIG NEWS!!! We got word from the city that our opening permit is in the process of final approval, so unless something surprising pops up we should be opening sometime next week! The outside is still a little rough but it’s beautiful inside and we can’t wait to show you what we have been up to at 490 Broadway in Bangor! Help us finish the outside by becoming a member of our Founders Club and get early access and free admission to to museum AND you will get invited to the ICM Founders Club Members-Only Grand Opening Reception where celebrity cryptozoologists will be doing a story slam and sharing their favorite 5 minute story! You never know know what you will find hanging around at the International Cryptozoology Museum! If all goes well we’ll be open by the end of the month, most of the final pieces have come together, but the way thing have been going who knows. We can’t wait to open here in - since 2003 the world’s oldest and largest cryptozoology museum! GOT PLANTS? Do you have and faux plants collecting dust in your attic or basement? We could really use a few more plastic trees, plant, and foliage to finish up the museum curation! Thank you everyone who already donated a few. We are so close to having all the required renovation for our permits to do our soft opening! You can also help by becoming a member of the museum. Updates from our founder and Director Loren Coleman, as he finishes curation of a case in our Mothman exhibit. His life work has been studying the unknown. He’s written dozens of books on cryptozoology and he’s collected 20,000 artifacts celebrating both the study and the cultural expression of unknown animals and creatures!
