June is a time to shine! 🌈 This Pride Month, we're filling MakerSpace with color, creativity, and community. Come contribute to our rainbow wall, make your own rainbow creations, and celebrate the joy of being exactly who you are. We'll also be marching in the Pride Portland Parade — look for us and say hello! 👋

Come celebrate with us. Every color. Every heart. Every child. 💛

THE BEES ARE BACK! 🐝

After a long winter away, we're buzzing with excitement to announce the return of our beloved bees to CMTM!

Visitors will find the bees in the IDEXX STEM Learning Hub on the third floor. The wall-mounted observation beehive features a transparent window within a wooden frame that houses a queen and between 8,00 to 10,000 worker bees! The hive’s unique design allows guests to look closely at the bees while observing behaviors like making honey, cleaning the hive, caring for eggs and larvae, producing beeswax, and leaving the hive to harvest nectar and pollen. 🌼

TODAY AND TOMORROW AT CMTM: Pass the Postcard 💌 Collage & Identity Featuring Guest Artist Annika Johnston in celebration of AAPI Heritage Month
May 16 & 17, 10 am - 12 pm

For Annika, AAPI Heritage Month celebrates the intersection of many special cultures and she will be highlighting collage to “represent the layering and overlapping of different heritages that result in a person's unique identity.” Johnston recognizes that those who identify as AAPI have probably traveled far or are descendants of those who have travelled, immigrated or migrated to their current homes. Postcards, a symbol of global connection, allow participants to share art and stories with those near and far. Blank postcards, curated clippings, images, and stamps will be available to visitors to create and share their own stories.
