A huge Thank You to everyone who came out to the Old Jail yesterday for our Dillinger Slept Here event! Our speaker Jim Haniford kept the audience captivated with his knowledge of Gangster day's and the Players, The Traveler NWI served 1930's themed delicious food, and the owners of Sheriff's Holley's car graciously brought the car out for everyone to view! The Old Jail hummed with conversations and laughter! The board at the Sheriff's House is dedicated to preserving not only the structure, but the stories of those who were there as history was made! We couldn't do any of it without community support. THANK YOU!

Getting ready for Saturday's big event!!!

05/14/2026

****Changes to event on May 23rd****
The event will take place in the Jail and Sheriff's House only. We will not be using the building next door. Unfortunately one of our speakers, Ellen Poulson will not be able to make it to the event at this time, we will look for another opportunity to hear her amazing stories at a future date. Jim Haniford will still be there to speak about many high profile criminals of the Ganster Era! Right now the plan is to have Sheriff Holley's car there, but we are watching the weather carefully! The car will be there from 11am to 2pm. We will still have incredible 1930"s themed food and some of the Dillinger family will be there to talk to everyone! Tours*research*photo's* and new theories coming out!
